Biography

Clare is an Architect who is a Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast.  She has worked in practice London and Belfast, with experience in education, community, residential, and commercial sector work. She is currently engaged in community sector projects in architectural practice which coincides with her research which focuses on city planning, architecture and inter-group contact of divided societies.  Her research areas of interest include, architectural design and planning in contested societies, spatial practices, socio-spatial integration, intergroup mixing and community participation in the design process.  Clare is part of the City Reparo, which is a multidisciplinary group working in Belfast with the social, public and private sectors focused on city transformations in the built environment, and sits as board member of the Ministerial Advisory Group for Architecture and the Built Environment N.I.
