Biography

Jackie began her career as a computer programmer in the manufacturing sector. After developing an interest in training and skills, she took up a lecturing post at the University of Paisley where she taught computing.

 

Later she became a director at a software development company, and then assistant chief executive at a national education agency. Jackie became interested in skills and employment policy and joined the Scottish Government in 2003 as an advisor to government ministers.

 

Jackie was a vice principal at Ayrshire College from 2013-18, and was appointed principal of West Lothian College in August 2018. She has had a lifelong passion for vocational education and skills, and for supporting inclusive growth through developing people and communities.
